MRC Pontiac was established in 1979. Does anyone know the reasons behind its establishment? Could the significant financial contributions each municipality pays to the MRC be the primary reason?
There now seems to be a call to dissolve the MRC. What are the advantages and disadvantages of maintaining it? Would municipalities be financially better off if the MRC were eliminated?
An open discussion about this issue would greatly benefit our community.
