Mickey Creek Golf Club held a Meet & Greet, April 21, to discuss the club’s upcoming season and unveil a memorial plaque created by Jeanne McTiernan, a Calumet Island artist and club committee member.

The plaque, dedicated to members who have passed away, is situated outside on the wall of the clubhouse veranda and was unveiled by owner Rodney Quinn and Shelly Moorhead, daughter of Pat Moorhead, a long-time member who passed last August.

Mickey Creek has been under new ownership since 2022 when Quinn and Robin Fequet bought the club. The couple were living on Quebec’s North Shore where Quinn had recently sold his business. When Quinn’s father in Vinton informed him the club was for sale, the couple came down for a look and decided to stay.

At the Meet & Greet, Club committee members reported on improvements undertaken since last season: upgrading the greens and washrooms and re-establishing a water hazard on the ninth hole. The course will also be extended from 9 to 12 holes this season.
