CAMPBELL’S BAY — Local job seekers turned out for a Magellan Aerospace recruitment event hosted by the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi (CJE) du Pontiac on July 9.

The event brought recruiters from the aerospace manufacturer to Campbell’s Bay to interview candidates and discuss employment opportunities at the company’s Haley Station, Ont., facility, located just across the Ottawa River from Portage-du-Fort.

Magellan Aerospace manufactures components and systems for the aerospace industry and offers careers in production and other specialized fields. According to the CJE, the company offers competitive wages, attractive working conditions and opportunities for professional advancement within the growing aerospace sector.

Recruiters Jara Stevenson and Randy Armstrong travelled to Campbell’s Bay to conduct on-site interviews for production worker positions and answer questions about employment at the facility. The event drew a strong turnout from Pontiac residents interested in manufacturing and aerospace careers.

Jessica Kelly, executive director of the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi du Pontiac, said the event demonstrated the value of bringing employers and local job seekers together.

“Initiatives like this demonstrate the importance of partnerships between employers and community organizations,” Kelly said. “We are proud to host events that create more opportunities for people to find meaningful employment while contributing to the economic vitality of the Pontiac.”
