Bylaw changes, new lots, and fire training on Pontiac’s agenda

MUNICIPALITY OF PONTIAC – Four residents attended council’s regular monthly meeting, February 11 at the Luskville Town Hall.
Question period
A property owner on Eardley-Masham Road, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transport (MTQ), said large trees are causing visibility issues for road users.
He was advised to contact the MTQ via 511.
Bylaws
Bylaw 02-25 was adopted, replacing bylaw 08-24 concerning the pricing of goods
and services in the Municipality of Pontiac.
Numerous draft bylaws were tabled to replace bylaws governing construction, subdivisions, zoning and urban planning. The bylaws were revised to standardize them throughout the MRC des Collines’ six municipalities.
A subdivision permit was issued for 75 Terry Fox Road, allowing five new lots to be
created: one section for a private road and another for a park.
Public security
A request for financial assistance to train five recent fire fighter recruits was submitted
to the Ministry of Public Security.
