Pontiac High School (PHS) held an athletic banquet in the school’s auditorium in Shawville, May 18, where students were recognized for their achievements throughout the year. The evening began with a video message from Teena Murray, an alumni who serves as senior vice-president of Integrated Performance for the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. Murray emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication in achieving success.
The banquet also acknowledged the contributions of Brenda Davis, former PHS math teacher, who received the Leadership in Athletics award for her significant impact on the school’s sports program.
Awards were handed out to students in various categories, including Junior Male Athlete of the Year: Gibbson Lang; Junior Female Athlete of the Year: Ruby Maloney; Senior Male Athlete of the Year: Hunter Beauregard; and Senior Female Athlete of the Year: Hannah Twolan.
