The Salt and Pepper Ski Club held its preseason meeting on January 11 at Le Patro in Mansfield. The event included a presentation on the history of the Ski at School program, the creation of the Salt and Pepper initiative, the club’s mission and values, and an introduction to the team. Participants also learned about the trails, typical outings, and tips on equipment and clothing.
While the season’s first ski was scheduled to follow the meeting, a lack of snow forced its postponement. Still, optimism remained high for the January and February activities.
Part of the Ski at School program and supported by various partners, the Salt and Pepper Ski Club offers twice-weekly outings for those aged 55 and older to stay active and connected. In the Pontiac, most Wednesday skis will take place at Le Patro, accompanied by Katelyn Bertrand (pictured above, second from left), who will provide skiing tips. Saturday sessions will be hosted at Astra Estates in Norway Bay, with volunteers from
Ski Pontiac.
