SUMMERFEST BRINGS THE FUN TO OTTER LAKE — Saturday, July 4, brought families to the Raymond Johnston Community Centre for Otter Lake’s Summer Fest, marking the municipality’s 150th anniversary.
The circus-themed celebration, organized by local volunteers, began with beach yoga led by Jennifer Mielke before a day of family-friendly activities. Entertainment included the Princess Bubble Magic Show and an interactive magic show. Families enjoyed free popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, face painting and birthday cake, while children explored the bouncy castles, visited the petting zoo and cooled off in the dunk tank. Parents browsed the classic car show and vendor booths.
“Seeing so many families come together, hearing the laughter and watching all the smiles made every hour of planning worthwhile,” said members of the Otter Lake 150 Committee.
Committee members Donna Cushman and Monique Racine-Lavigne also created a handmade quilt that was raffled off during the event. The lucky winner was baby Nora Rioux. The committee is already planning its next anniversary celebration, Harvest & Heritage, on September 26. — Crystal Dubeau
