TINSEL AND TIDINGS FUNDRAISER BRINGS HOLIDAY CHEER
The Pontiac Agricultural Society’s annual Tinsel and Tidings event once again filled the community with festive spirit, showcasing Christmas trees uniquely decorated by local businesses and community groups. Visitors admired the creative displays, voted for their favourites, and bid on trees during an auction, December 7, in the homecraft building at the Shawville Fairgrounds.
Proceeds support the Snowsuit Fund and Angel Tree programs, two initiatives that help local families during the holidays. This year’s standout trees included creations from Oktoberfest Ladysmith, MAPAQ, and M&R Feeds while the top three crowd favourites were from Cartrites, the 4H Club and the Bristol Community Association. The auction was a success, with trees from the Shawville Fair and M&R Feeds fetching over $200 each. – Lidija Rozitis
