FORTIN HEARS CONCERNS FROM ENGLISH SPEAKERS

Published in the Pontiac Journal on April 9, 2025.

The Regional Association of West Quebecers (RAWQ) invited community members to share concerns and ask questions with MNA André Fortin during a 5 à 7 held at Little Red Wagon Winery in Shawville on April 4.

“Often these gatherings have a particular theme, but we thought it would be good this time to be more informal,” said Alina Holmes, RAWQ executive director.

In response to questions, Fortin suggested that public demonstrations in support of the Shawville hospital would be an effective way to draw the government’s attention. He also said federal candidates should be encouraged to support increased health funding and the fast-tracking of accreditation for internationally trained doctors.

Another issue raised by participants was public safety, particularly in cases where road signs appear only in French.
