Bryson swings into summer

BRYSON – The sound of bat connecting with ball cracked the air, Saturday, June 15, at the Lions Baseball Park in Bryson as eight teams vied for bragging rights in the annual Three Pitch Ball Tournament. Teams from around the Pontiac came together for a day of fun, food and drink with activities for the whole family sponsored by the Bryson Recreation Association. The Lil’ Rascals Market, an event that debuted at Family Day last year, returned giving kids of all ages an opportunity to sell their crafts and products to the public. A washer toss and a couple of bouncy castles also kept the wee tykes busy as the ball games went on in the park. The canteen was open serving beverages of all sorts, hamburgers, hot dogs and chips to the hungry masses as they cheered on their favourite teams. At the end of the day, The Bombers won the tournament defeating The Rivermen in the final game. The tournament was followed by live music in the park pavilion from Small Town Roots, the duo of Jamie Cameron and Robbie McCallum.
