Early in August, Amélie Boutin and Francisco Retamal Diaz, from the Nature Conservancy of Canada, took a load of garbage from an island off Knox Landing, in Bristol, back to the mainland for disposal. The clean-up was a joint effort with members of the Friends of Chats Falls with Bristol Municipality transporting the collected waste to the transfer station.
Area islands owned by the Nature Conservancy are available to all for day-use only on a “leave-no-trace” basis respecting the rich native biodiversity.
