It is important to recognize the fact that presently Pontiac residents are driving much farther to the nearest pool in either Pembroke, Arnprior or Aylmer. Their money is also not spent in the Pontiac. A pool in Fort-Coulonge is much closer for all Pontiac residents.
This choice was made 4 years ago, as on a map of Highway 148 Fort-Coulonge is the centre point between Bristol and Allumette Island. The highest population is there and the Municipality of Fort-Coulonge gave Piscine Pontiac two acres of land for one dollar for the project.
One of our community partners will be TransporAction, which can provide transportation for everyone – especially seniors – who may not drive.
Our health depends on a facility like this and if we are successful obtaining the government funds, I hope that you will use it!
