The weekly wing night was special on March 2 at Gavan’s Hotel in Quyon; a large crowd of patrons enjoyed “Thirsty Thursday” and music from local musicians, including Gail Gavan. The piano was rolled out and the toe tapping began. CTV News Ottawa’s Joel Haslam was taping a story about the new ownership at Gavan’s, and also joined in on the fun, playing guitar and signing a few tunes. The new owner is Jim Cain, who has ties to the area. Gavan’s was established in 1946 by Lennox and Margaret Gavan. In 1983, the hotel was sold to Nick Matechuk and his wife Laurena who operated it for 40 years.
