PONTIAC EQUESTRIAN ASSOCIATION HOSTS ANNUAL TACK SALE

Published in the Pontiac Journal on April 9, 2025.

The Pontiac Equestrian Association held its annual tack sale at the Luskville Community Centre on Saturday, April 5, with proceeds supporting the maintenance and repair of the 12 km equestrian trail in Gatineau Park, as well as other events such as riding clinics.

The sale featured children’s games, artisan vendors, door prizes, a canteen, and four presentations: The Importance of Your Horse’s Topline, Horse Nutrition, Introduction to Working Equitation, and Dressage for Kids.

Victoria Menstra Laurin, a member of the Equestrian Association, explained, “It’s like an equestrian tack sale meets a bazaar—the idea is to sell, exchange, get together, and be social. It’s a great way to connect.”

Vendor tables were filled with bridles, bits, saddles, fly masks, and chaps. Some vendors came from as far as St-André-Avellin (Script Designs) and Ste-Sophie (SS Broderie/Embroidery). Others offered services, including Martin G. Grondin, a barefoot trimmer, and Shannon Townsend, a certified riding coach from Hendricktown Farms. – Cheryl Dolan
