SHAWVILLE – On June 15, the Shawville District Minor Hockey Association (SDMHA) hosted a lively BBQ and bake sale fundraiser at the Giant Tiger in Shawville. Under a tent with animated music and enthusiastic volunteers, delicious baked goods and burgers were sold to raise money for the association.
The SMDHA represents 300 players from the Shawville area between the ages of 5-18. The group has many teams per age division where members play hockey in the winter months and participate in training camps during the summer.
At the end of the day, Second Vice President of the Board Holly Lalonde confirmed the bake sale raised over $2000 for the SMDHA. Funds from the sale will be used to help lower registration fees and training camp costs.
