BRISTOL – March 4 and 5, Ski Pontiac teamed up with Ski-at-School at Astra Estates in Bristol to loan cross-country ski equipment to those who wished to check out the trails but lacked their own equipment. Katelyn Bertrand from Ski-at-School was on hand to help people get fitted up and accompanied them on trails as needed.
“It was really great to see some of the kids I’ve worked with at the schools in the Pontiac”, said Bertrand who works during the week to bring the cross-country ski opportunities to schools in the region.
Other Ski Pontiac activities over the weekend included a snowshoeing workshop and trail tour on Saturday with the free loan of equipment. Separate trails for snowshoeing and skiing will be groomed as long as conditions allow and facilities are open at Astra Estates Thursday to Sunday, including restaurant services on the weekend.
