Dr. Wilbert Keon School (DWKS) hosted four students and their teacher from the Global School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from February 9 to 20. The local school has been working with the Global School for years. Director of the Global School Gabriel Rshaid helped with the student exchange. Global School students presented a video of Argentina on February 16 to DWKS students and had them compete in an online knowledge test about Argentina. Principal Neil Fleming and students gifted the Argentinian group with a Canadian flag as a memento of their visit.

Global School students served up a tasty Chocotorta treat and provided the recipe for their Canadian friends. During their stay, the students participated in a variety of outdoor activities including ice fishing, snowshoeing, skiing, dog sledding, quinzee building, as well as Indigenous craft and painting. Host students were Melissa Pilon, Meadow Cortese, Landon St- Cyr, Leiya Fischer and Leeya Lavigne. Global School students were Alex Schneider, Valentina Wedeking, Uma Fabbina, Benjamin De Wilde and teacher Carla Vega. Visitors stayed with host student families and DWKS staff. (PS)
