ZUCCHINI RACES AND POTATO SLING FUN AT CHAPEAU MARKET – Children who attended the Marché de Chapeau in L’Isle-aux-Allumettes on October 10 and 12 were able to join in on some fun activities thanks to the Chapeau Agricultural Society.
Thursday’s market featured live music by Homemade Jam along with vendors. The Chapeau and District Lions Club wrapped up their canteen season the same day.
Grade nine students from Dr. Wilbert Keon School (DWKS) assisted teacher Mr. Mullen and his students in building zucchini cars for a race on Saturday at the market, with four $20 prizes awarded: Best Decorated – Hedgehog; Best Crash – DWKS Coyote; Slowest – École Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur; and Longest Distance – Grade 2/3 DWKS class.
